Who we are

The Aptra program is owned and operated by Sino LLC, a company registered in the State of Texas, USA. This policy describes how we handle personal information collected through aptrastandard.com and the Aptra student account. Questions about this policy can be sent to info@aptrastandard.com.

What we collect

Account information: your name, email address, and a hashed password — or, if you sign in with Google or Microsoft, the name, email address, and account identifier those services share with us. We never see or store your Google or Microsoft password.

Advising profile: date of birth, nationality, country and city of residence, current qualification and its details, fields of interest, goals, and university preferences — provided by you to receive pathway guidance.

Scholarship applications: your intended field, motivation, and achievements as you submit them.

Form submissions: institution certification applications and contact messages, including the contact details entered in them.

Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) kept for security and reliability.

How we use information

To operate your account and the services you request; to provide advising and pathway matching; to review scholarship applications; to administer certification and, where applicable, the transfer process; to respond to inquiries; and to protect the service against fraud and abuse.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

AI-assisted advising

Pathway matching compares your advising profile against descriptions of partner pathways and qualification systems using software running on our own infrastructure. Your personal data is processed transiently for each request: it is not stored in the advising index, not shared with third-party AI services, and not used to train any model. Matching results are guidance, not decisions.

When we share information

With Aptra Certified Institutions and partner universities, only as part of an application, enrollment, or transfer process you are pursuing; with service providers who host our infrastructure under confidentiality obligations; and when required by law. Certificate verification through our registry confirms only what appears on the certificate itself.

Storage, security, and retention

Data is stored in databases operated by us. Passwords are stored as salted hashes; connections are encrypted in transit; access is limited to personnel who need it.

Account and profile data are kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. The certificate registry is retained permanently, because permanent verifiability is its purpose. You may request deletion of your account at any time; registry entries required for the integrity of issued certificates are retained in de-identified or minimal form.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may close your account, by writing to students@aptrastandard.com from the email address on your account. We respond to every request and explain any limitation that applies.

Students under 16

The service is intended for students preparing for university study. If you are under 16, use the service only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. Material changes affecting account holders will be announced to them by email.
